Sophia Landy- MI3DE
As with every 3 Day event, there is a massive lead up to Melbourne 3DE. The preparation starts months beforehand, and with so much lead up and careful preparations it is a relief when it finally arrives. This year I had two horses competing; Geisha in the 3*** and Hughie in the 4****. The first part of the competition is getting the horses through trot up.

After a few events being cancelled because of the weather, I was very happy to be competing at Tooradin Horse Trials even though our dressage test consisted of some rain dancing and halting in the hail. It was Adventure Time's (Finn) second competition in EVA95 and he produced a nice consistent test to be sitting 5th after dressage.

What a month it has been! I have been so busy with races I have barely even been able to ride. I am so excited for the spring weather to finally start so I can get back into it.
We have a new property and unfortunately the wet weather has held up our arena an stables getting built so we are hoping that will begin soon. At this point I am doing a lot of hacking out and riding at the Kangaroo Ground Adult riders club.

With winter finally coming to an end, and daylight savings making an appearance again, my riding has been thrown into overdrive the past few months with the two boys coming back into full competition work. After a paddock injury and a short holiday, Streeton was finally back on track and going under saddle. My new Dublin helmet made a debut at the SIEC event for Streeton’s competition return, sprucing up my dressage test with some diamontes! The weather unfortunately was not in our favour, causing him to rack up some XC time in the mud at the event, however we managed to survive the cold and rainy weekend thanks to my Dublin Stella Jacket, and a whole stack of warm woollies for the boys.
