As with every 3 Day event, there is a massive lead up to Melbourne 3DE. The preparation starts months beforehand, and with so much lead up and careful preparations it is a relief when it finally arrives. This year I had two horses competing; Geisha in the 3*** and Hughie in the 4****. The first part of the competition is getting the horses through trot up.

We have finally made the much anticipated move up to Euroa Horse Park! But before we left I had to make the annual trip to my favourite Lang Lang Show, local to Tooradin Estate where I have lived for the last few years.

I know some people send their horses out for a spell over the Summer, but this year it was time for the humans to take a much needed holiday. My family went for a break to Rottnest Island, where I rode every day – but it was pedal power, instead of horse power, that propelled me around the beautiful nature reserve.

After a busy season with Adelaide, Equitana, Lakes and Craters, and all the small events in between, it is great to now be spending a few weeks over summer with just my own horses at my grand-parents farm where I grew up riding.
