Zoe Powell- Update
May was quite and intensive month for Huck and I in preparation for our first ever 1* at Gundagai Horse Trails. It was the first time either of us had competed at this height! I was extremely nervous but excited to get out there and give it a crack. Hucks first attempt at 1* dressage saw a reasonably tense test but also some great forward movement. Showjumping saw a couple of rider errors due to getting a grip on the bigger height and trickier striding. We encountered a problem on a tricky xcountry course so I decided to retire and leave it for another competition instead of overfacing him. Although it wasn't the weekend I was hoping for it gave me plenty to work on for next time. That weekend made me realise the reason I bought this horse, I didn’t want a school master, I wanted a horse I could take up the levels with me and so Huck and I are back out training for our next attempt at 1* in a couple of months!
We are planning to attend lots of clinics in June including the Eventing NSW Intermediate Clinic at Camden and the Tinney's Eventing Clinic at Wallaby Hill
