Zoe Powell

I remember my love for riding started at the age of 11 when I leased my first horse. From day one I was hooked and always had aspirations to become an eventer. I purchased my own horse Ergonomic (Jack) a year later and he took me from being an inexperienced rider competing at newcomers to a confident Pre-novice competitor. I have now recently purchased an off the track thoroughbred (OTTT), I’myourhuckleberry (Huck) who, after his failed racing career had a short stint as a showjumper. I then retrained Huck to be an eventer! We currently compete at Pre-novice level and are aiming to go 1* in the coming months, with the ultimate goal of competing at 3* level. Riding is my passion, and my focus is on my horse and I improving with every ride. I haven’t gone the school master route with horses as I prefer to learn and grow with them, so I can go on and have a career riding and training and bringing on young horses. I am especially passionate about working with OTTT’s to help give them a new job after racing. Huck and I have recently moved to Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga to follow my dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian. I am extremely proud to be a Dublin Ambassador and am thrilled that they are supporting up and comers like me.
