Sophia Landy

After many years of begging my parents for a horse, I got my first pony when I was 9 years old and there was absolutely no going back! I was obsessed, and spent every possible moment zooming about my grandparents’ farm on a pretty out of control fluffy grey pony, jumping everything I could find. Years down the track not much has changed; I am still just as horse crazy as ever, and am still galloping around and jumping on a hopefully-in-control grey while out competing at 2** level eventing. I live and work at Tooradin Estate, a beautiful equestrian property with fantastic facilities which enables me to ride and coach professionally and full time. I love coaching young riders, and run school holiday riding programs and a Saturday Riding Club as well as doing lots of private coaching. I currently have nine horses in work, six of which I am training and campaigning for their respective owners. These horses range from breakers to FEI horses. I particularly enjoy the rewarding process of starting young horses under saddle and seeing them progress up the levels. I am really proud to have produced my two top horses, ESB Golden Zone (2** eventer) and Prince Edward (1.30m Show Jumper) to where they are now, and Zone in particular is showing enormous aptitude for the future. I am hoping he will be my first international horse, for my ultimate goal is to compete at 4**** level and represent Australia.
